Ava and Gina prints

That's me on the left, and Ava, my eight-year-old neighbor, on the right. I have known her since the day she was born, as I was already close with her family because Ava's half sister is my age. I started babysitting Ava when she was just 2 years old and she couldn't even say my name. I hope these prints capture how close we are today. I made these two prints by setting up a tripod and focusing the camera, and then Ava's mom pressed the shutter for me. Both pictures required burning, dodging, and cropping to get the contrast just right. All of the prints of Ava were taken in her front yard, where her parents have planted bunches of tall, beautiful grasses. It's the perfect location for a photo shoot.
